I’m dreaming of a white christmas

Well it certainly is winter, it so absolutely freezing! Can’t go outside without looking like the Michelene man and am getting very good at “dressing in layers.”

We had a tiny bit of snow on Sunday morning. Most of it was melted by the time we got up but is was still exciting.

David starts a new job in a couple of weeks. He will be contracting again (yipee) and starts the week before we go away for christmas! The new job is working for a large energy company and will he will spend two days a week in London and three days a week in Dusseldorf, Germany. David is very happy to be contracting again and I can’t wait to meet him in Germany for weekends away.

We were real tourists on Sunday and went to Madame Tussau[ds. Had a great afternoon playing paparazzi. As cheesy as it was, we had a lot of fun.

Afterwards we wandering around Oxford Street looking at all the christmas lights. Everything is looking very pretty at the moment - as cold as it is, the skys are clear and there are fairy lights everywhere. I am starting to feel chrismassy too know which is funny because christmas is meant to be hot!!

We are going skiing in France for christmas with 10 other Aussies. We have booked a chalet in a village called Les Menuires which is in the 3 Vallees. It is the same ski area that we skied in for Rick & Sara's honeymoon but the resort is SO huge that we having seen the area we are staying in. Anyway, it should be fantastic fun and we will be having a white christmas!!

After christmas, Amie & Greg will be here. Can't wait to see them and catch up.

This weekend we are off to the Winterwonderland (gosh, it's a winter themed blog today). It is a big fair in Hyde Park with lots of rides, ice skating and a German christmas market. Lots of fun!

Now we are settled into our house we are starting to play tourist again. If anyone has any suggestions for things we should see in London, please drop us a line!

Finally back online!

We move two weeks ago for what should hopefully be that last time in at least a year! Our new flat is a lovely one bedroom garden flat. We are in Fulham in a neighbourhood called Sands End which is really lovely. Close to the river and lots of good restaurants and shops on Wandsworth Bridge Road.

It was fantastic to finally really unpack everything and settle down. Had a lot of fun at Homebase (which is the UK equivilant of to Bunnings) getting bits and pieces for the new place.

Weather is truely close to winter. It actually snowed one night last week which was a bit of a shock.

Last night was Guy Fawkes Night and everyone was letting off fireworks which was fun. We sat in our lounge room and watched the neighbours display from the comfort of our living room – no need to to get in early for a good spot!

Monday night was our one year wedding anniversary (awww). We went out for dinner and saw the musical Avenue Q. It is a musical done by puppets and was very, very funny. I know of a lot of people that have seen it and I was warned that it was very wrong but funny – so with that in mind, we had a good laugh.

The day we moved I had a work team building day which ended up being a scavenger hunt around London!! It was so much fun and our team won (no one said we couldn’t use a taxi to help us get around).

Hope everyone is well and the weather is getting nice and warm at home – can’t wait for the hot weather when come home in March for Lindsay’s wedding.
